We are hiring an Antenna Test Technician / Engineer who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, data collection and storage, thus overall ownership of our NSI-Mi near-field Antenna Test Ranges (Anechoic chambers). You will work with the various RF teams in the company to support testing, functionality, and troubleshooting of antennas and RF subassemblies. It is the responsibility and duty of the Antenna Technician to keep the test department range control environment clean and organized to improve workflow, and to keep the two anechoic chambers in show condition for customer and visitor inspection.
You will be expected to determine the best test methodology for the antenna under test, then processing and reducing the measurement data and compiling it into various forms of images and patterns. That data is then used to validate and compare the antennas performance against specifications and/or electrical simulations. Upkeep of the ranges and regular calibration are essential to the role, as well as test fixturing and implementation.
Experience & Education
2 years minimum of Antenna/RF test range experience with a BSEE and specific NSI near-field range experience.
or, minimum of 4 years of RF test range experience with an Associate degree.
or, minimum of 6 years of RF pattern test experience on indoor anechoic chamber experience.
Test Equipment Skills:
Computer Skills: Windows-based computer programs including MS Word and Excel.
We develop and manufacture custom antennas for land, maritime and aerospace applications operating within the Microwave Frequency Spectrum including UHF, L, S, C, X, Ku and Ka-bands. We produce thousands of wide-band, polarization diverse Ka band antennas each year that are type approved to operate on the Inmarsat and WGS satellite networks. We also produce a wide variety of passive and active L-band antennas, including omni’s, volutes, arrays and adaptive beamforming arrays for tracking. We hold certifications for AS 9100 and ISO 9001 and adheres to these standards both culturally and in practice. We also manufacture all the antenna components in its own production shop using precision CNC machines. In addition, it measures all its antennas for certification submissions and electrical compliance in its on-site spherical and planar near-field anechoic chambers. Our core competencies are designing and manufacturing passive and active antennas for satellite communications and many other applications.
